Baja Salt Group is a North American company and the exclusive representative of the largest salt facility in the world, Exportadora de Sal, S. A. De C.V., located in Guerrero Negro, Baja California Sur, Mexico. This salt facility produces 7 million tons annually of the highest qualities of industrial salt from evaporation, in its 33,000 hectare evaporative ponds.

Salt water slowly travels through a system of evaporation ponds, increasing in density, until the point of saturation, with the assistance of the sun and winds of this region.

This brine enters the ponds as a liquid, but thru the process of concentrated crystallization, resulting in layers of pure salt. ESSA utilizes specialized machinery to recover the product. Additionally, ESSA produces 100,000 Metric Tons of refined salt with its crystallizing plant, which uses the highest technology available. A patented process of “salting-out”, combines sodium chloride with magnesium chloride, in perfect proportions to produce refined salt at 99.90% minimum purity.

Baja Salt Group is responsible for the sales of these products in Central America, first, by loading the different qualities of salt in ships for its clients, and later, managing the logistics of the products, until they arrive to its clients in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.
